Easy way to have single-dish meal for an army (or have leftovers).
Difficulty: Super easy



  • 1.5c shredded sharp cheddar
  • 2c shredded Italian cheese blend
  • 1 can tomato sauce (15oz)
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (14.4 oz)
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 0.75c chopped onion
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • 0.5lb bulk mild Italian sausage
  • 1lb ground beef
  • 8oz rotini

Step By Step

1. Preheat oven to 350
2. Boil large pot of lightly salted water. Cook pasta until just al dente, 6-8min; drain. Run cold water over pasta to stop cooking. Set aside.
3. Cook ground beef and sausage until browned, 7-10 min. Mix in onion & garlic; cook & stir 5min. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from heat. Stir in tomatoes and tomato sauce. Cool 5min.
4. Lightly grease large casserole. Spread pasta over bottom of dish. Sprinkle Italian cheese blend over pasta. Pour meat mixture over pasta and cheese. Cover dish with heavy foil. Bake 45min; remove foil and sprinkle Cheddar evenly over casserole. Bake until Cheddar melted, about 5min. Rest 10min before serving.
